Elmwood Park, IL Immediate openings for LPNs to work with medically-fragile children in school (pre-K thru HS)Our assignments are in NW Chicago, Norridge, Melrose Park, and nearby suburban townsCare may include g-tube, seizure management, or diabetes educationTraining may be provided depending on your skills and experienceWe are hiring enthusiastic nurses who like kids and are looking for full or part-time workNurses working with our pediatric and school nursing program find it to be a rich and rewarding experience in the development of their careersResponsibilities Implement plan of care and treatment using sound judgment and critical thinking Provide accurate, detailed, and timely documentation consistent with the plan of care and the nursing process Prepare, administer, and appropriately document actions taken specific to the commonly prescribed oral, topical, subcutaneous and intramuscular medicationsObserve, reports, and record adverse reactions to medications and/or treatment to the school nurse Perform all skill, treatments, and procedures to the scope of practice as defined in the Nurse Practice Act in the state of clinical practice and adheres to the policies, procedures, and protocols of the agency G-tube, seizure management, diabetes education a plusQualifications Graduated from National League of Nursing accredited practical or vocational school of nursing Unencumbered license as a Practical or Vocational Nurse in Illinois Negative TB test or chest x-ray Recommended Skills Clinical Practices Critical Thinking Nursing Nursing Process Passionate Pediatrics Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
