Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team.
The Medical Receptionist is often the first point of contact for patients and plays a vital role in creating a positive and efficient experience for them.
In this role, you will be responsible for various administrative and front desk duties.
Responsibilities:
Patient Engagement:
Greet and welcome patients in a warm and professional manner.
Provide assistance and answer questions, ensuring a friendly and comfortable atmosphere in the waiting area.
Appointment Scheduling:
Schedule patient appointments, both in person and over the phone.
Confirm appointments and reschedule as necessary.
Maintain an organized appointment calendar.
Patient Records:
Accurately collect and update patient information, including personal details, insurance information, and medical history.
Maintain patient records in compliance with confidentiality and regulatory standards.
Phone and Email Communication:
Handle incoming phone calls and emails, directing inquiries to the appropriate staff or providing necessary information to patients and other callers.
Recalls:
Weekly recalls to remind patients of their yearly exams or follow ups.
Billing and Payments:
Collect co-pays and payments from patients, process insurance information, and manage financial transactions accurately.
Address billing inquiries and ensure proper documentation.
Administrative Support:
Assist with administrative tasks, including filing, data entry, and managing paperwork.
Coordinate with healthcare providers and assist in facilitating a smooth workflow in the office.
Cross- Training:
All employees in this role are expected to undergo cross- training in various tasks and responsibilities to support a flexible and efficient workforce.
Office Maintenance:
Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
Ensure the availability of necessary office supplies.
Notify appropriate personnel of any maintenance or equipment issues.
Patient Comfort:
Help patients feel at ease and address their concerns when possible.
Escort patients to examination rooms and assist with any additional requirements.
Willing to train the right candidate.
Requirements:
Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar role is preferred.
Bilingual ( fluent in Spanish) Proficiency in using office software, electronic health records (EHR) systems, and scheduling software is a plus.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance procedures is a plus Job Type:
